| Corals
- Artificial Artificial Corals are ideal for people who don't want to spend the time keeping corals alive, but like the general look of corals. Typically in a fish only tank, artificial corals give it a reasonably realistic look compared to a natural reef. The look of artificial corals have actually improved a lot in recent years. There is a much greater availability of them . They
are typically made of some sort of synthetic resin with the color built in . You might
have to remove them periodically to refresh the color. If you let them sit in a chlorine
bath overnight ( 1/8 cup chlorox per gallon of water), be sure to dechlorinate them
before you return them to the reef. Chlorine is Dangerous! Of course chlorox is highly caustic and extreme caution should be used when cleaning with it. Be sure to read the safety precautions on the bottles label. So even though we only sell live corals, there is a place in the hobby for the easy to care for artificial corals. |
